Type one equation with an equals sign, choose any variable as the unknown, then enter values for the others. The library is optional: the solver can work with custom algebraic equations as long as the syntax is supported. Electronics names such as Vin, Vavg, dI, Rload, fs, or thetaJA are just ordinary variables.

• Vavg = D*Vs can solve for Vavg, D, or Vs.
• L = (Vin - Vout)*D/(dI*fs) can solve for ripple current, frequency, duty, or inductance.
• Non-electronics equations work too, for example y = m*x + b, if the variables and functions are written plainly.
• The symbol pad inserts operators and common names at the cursor.
